RBFIX Iron sucrose injection

RBFIX Iron sucrose injection is an iron replacement product that is used to treat iron deficiency anemia (not enough iron in the blood) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) including those who are undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal) and those who do not require dialysis. An iron infusion is a way to increase the body’s iron levels quickly. It’s a more immediate treatment than supplements or dietary changes.

COMPOSITION:

Iron Sucrose Injection USP (Each mL contains 20 mg elemental iron)

MODE OF ACTION:

Following intravenous administration, iron sucrose is dissociated into iron and sucrose and the iron is transported as a complex with transferrin to target cells including erythroid precursor cells. The iron is then incorporated into hemoglobin as the cells mature into red blood cells.

INDICATIONS

Iron sucrose injection is widely used in treatment of the iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia and patients undergoing dialysis receiving supplemental erythropoietin therapy & in the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in chronic kidney disease (CKD). It replenishes body iron stores in patients with iron deficiency.
