BENISTO contains Benidipine, also known as Benidipinum or benidipine hydrochloride, is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). Benidipine not only has an inhibitory effect on muscular (L type) Ca+2 channel, but also have an inhibitory effect on N and T type Ca+2 channels.

Benidipine 4 mg / 8 mg Tablets
MODE OF ACTION:
Benidipine is a long acting dihydropyridine Calcium (Ca) Channel Blocker. It exerts it`s antianginal, antihypertensive actions through blocking the influx of Ca ions through voltage gated L-type Ca channels to the peripheral vascular smooth muscle cells, Coronary smooth muscle cells and to the myocardial cells. Thus causes dilatation of vascular endothelium, decrease peripheral resistance, & reduce myocardial oxygen demand.

In Hypertension & Angina Pectoris
DOSAGE
Hypertension – 2-4 mg once daily increased to 8 mg once daily, if necessary. Angina pectoris – 4 mg bid.
